Vampy Hates Virgil
Apr. 30th, 2005 09:22 pmI have to read the Aeneid by Monday, so I went to BAM to get a copy. I'll read it tomorrow, easy.
Anyway, I was standing in the comics section flipping through Lucifer: Exodus, and some snot of a ten-year-old had pulled out one of every comic and was reading them, then leaving them in a giant pile. After a few minutes, his father came and was like, "All right, we have to go."
On the off chance he just hadn't noticed, I said, "Sir, he made quite a mess. Shouldn't he put the books back where he found them?" I mean, shit, this is why the stacks are in such a mess, kids like this. I found a copy of Ex Machina I'd put back in the wrong place the last time I was there, and I put it back where it belonged.
And rather than beating me up, which was what I was half-fearing, the guy stood there and made his kid put all the comics back, in the right slots. Like, he tried to shove some variation of Batman in on top of Wolverine, and his dad stopped him and made him put it in the right place. I hope the little brat's learned his lesson, but I sincerely doubted it.
