O Holy Night
Nov. 28th, 2004 10:17 pmI have this friend, B. Okay, so I haven't talked to B in like, an ever, and that's a problem, but.
See, B is a militant atheist. He denounced God under a tree during a lightning storm. Yeah. But B begrudgingly admits that Christianity has given us something beautiful, and that is Christmas music.
So why, why does every starlet with a recording contract try to butcher it?
Never mind Beyonce Knowles claiming a writing credit on Silent Night on the Destiny's Child Christmas album a few years back (and I never listened to it, so I don't know if she actually changed it, but if she actually did, shame on her even more). This Jessica Simpson thing is just...appalling.
First off, Rejoyce? What, Re-Buffy's mom? Jesus Christ, woman, misspelling things does not make them cool! As a matter of fact, misspelling things makes the Baby Jesus cry! And then, and then, I heard her singing O Holy Night, and I almost cried. And not in the good way. It was...well. It was just bad. *flails*
