sadlikeknives: (stealing attention)
Summer school is FINALLY over and I'm back at my parents' for pretty much the rest of the summer. I got my grades back--As in both of my classes, go me. The big downside to being here is, they have dial-up, so it's slow, and if I spend all my time on the computer, they think I'm weird. Also, they only have one phone line (so Stone Age), so I can't be online much during the day.

My great-grandmother has this very pretty calico cat, Ms. Agnes, who had kittens a while back. Two of them have since gone to new homes. One of them lives with my next-door neighbors, who are also my cousins. Their three-year-old has dubbed the little fuzzball Snuggles Boo Boo Socks Boots. I say we should just call it Pants or something. The other two are still hanging around their mom until other cousins claim them. One of them is a little white boy who squalls when you pick him up, and he reminds me SO MUCH of kitten!George. But I do not need another kitty.

Anyway, a while back Ms. Agnes developed a lump on her side, and my mom carted her off to the vet. It turned out she'd gotten cut on something and it was nastily infected. The vet had to do surgery to clean it out, and she has an incision basically all the way down her stomach. She was supposed to get the stitches out yesterday, but they weren't ready to come out. Today, I went to put Neosporin on the incision and she'd pulled a bunch of the stitches, and it looked gross, so back to the vet we went again, and they've kept her overnight because they have to put her back under to stitch her back up. And once she's finally healed up, we're getting her spayed, and this is not even our cat. Half the family is like, "Y'all are just too soft-hearted," by this point, and my mom is threatening to form the, "Spay Great-Grandmother's Cat" fund and lean on all the cousins until they cough up five dollars.

Of course, if all my cousins coughed up five dollars, we could pay all of Ms. Agnes's vet bills.

I still have not seen Pirates of the Caribbean 2. That's a project for this weekend. And I can't think of anything else that's new with me.
