Adventures in Class-Finding
Jan. 12th, 2007 02:11 amSo, there's a problem. The African-American women's lit class turns out to involve an obscene amount of work for a 300-level class--a twelve-page paper, a five-to-seven-page paper, five three-page papers, an in-class presentation, and a midterm and a final. I'm a senior in my last semester. The laziness is setting in, and I have no desire to do that much work. Also, I hate getting up in front of people and talking, so honestly the in-class presentation alone was almost enough to send me running for the door. The twelve-pager was just the cherry on top.
I'm now scrambling to drop it and get in another 300-level. But the one I want to take has the same course number as a class I took sophomore year, even though it's a completely different class (They're both 'Special Topics.' The one I took already was on Harry Potter; this one's on Dostoevsky.) So I need to find out if I can, y'know, actually do that, but my advisor's gone to a new position in the Honors College, and we didn't exactly bother finding me a new advisor since I'm graduating in May and thought I had it all worked out. So tomorrow I have to go harrass people in the English department until I find someone who can help me. FUN!
