Days Go By...
Dec. 18th, 2004 11:48 pmPeople I like. People I find witty, intelligent, sensible, amusing.
They're also people who like TWoP.
And now, I find this:
What the fuck? Am I missing something here? Does TWoP not suck now? Did Glark, Wing, and Sars turn the reins over to sane people? Did TWoP start being funny again and stop being a fascist state? When did that happen?
Actually, you know what, even if it has happened, I still hate them, because they banned my ass for no good reason. So there.

Date: 2004-12-20 01:55 am (UTC)You've got a link to them in your sidebar, you see, is what gave me the impression you liked them.
I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, or bothered you, and that I confused you. I'm not expressing myself well lately.

How to win friends and influence people?
Date: 2005-01-06 12:26 am (UTC)You see, in every fascist country, and in times of dictatorship, there are people who identify with their "benevolent" leaders, and try to embrace their qualities, and even take on the responsbility themselves of spreading that style. They've infected LJ, they've infected Blogger, Diaryland, etc, etc. A brand of ultra-snobbiness like no other. And Aaron Sorkin is right.
This is the only really mainstream criticism I found of the place. (http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomframe.jsp?query=flak+magazine%2Btwop+criticism&page=1&offset=0&result_url=redir%3Fsrc%3Dwebsearch%26requestId%3Ddce9afab9a9da488%26clickedItemRank%3D1%26userQuery%3Dflak%2Bmagazine%252Btwop%2Bcriticism%26clickedItemURN%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fflakmag.com%252Ftv%252Ftwop.html%26invocationType%3D-%26fromPage%3DNSCPSuggestion%26amp%3BampTest%3D1&remove_url=http%3A%2F%2Fflakmag.com%2Ftv%2Ftwop.html)
I joined shortly after they got Yahoo!'s big throbbing cock of money inside them, and I had no idea that there were the "good old days", it was just something to do while I was unemployed. I immediately got a warning for something really asinine. I should've quit then, but Nooooo! I'm not a quitter. By August, I decided to get myself banned. I migrated over to Fametracker, which is an even more lethal form of haughty snobbiness. I patented a really unique brand of trolling that kept me from being banned, but still, people had talk shit behind my back and stop just short of saying something bannable to me. I suspect most of those snots have never even kissed anybody.
I don't know, either,
Once you're banned, you're shunned, too. People won't answer e-mails, or IM you anymore. They're hooked. I hope that this Yahoo! thing doesn't work out. I think my life would've been better if they had gone out of business before I discovered them.
It's not just the mods, it's some of the users. I have in my mind about twenty people who dominate damn near everything over there. I would have never, ever bought a t-shirt, a sticker or a coffee mug with that stupid ass "Tubey" character on it.
Re: How to win friends and influence people?
That's how I found this, BTW.

Date: 2005-01-09 09:16 pm (UTC)It's like the frickin' most insane ego-trip ever.
Don't e-mail mods about warnings, bannings, etc, etc, you broke a rule we just made up because we don't like you! (IMHO)blah, blah, blah,
but, Buy our t-shirts! Buy our mousepads! Our servers sound like a Yeti in heat because of the n00bs! Give me you fu**ing wallet if you're going to read without posting!
Quite possibly what you don't read over there.
