I have dyed my hair purple.

I have also dyed a towel, a t-shirt, an alarming amount of my skin, and a patch of the bathroom counter purple, but thankfully no patches of cat. I fully remember now why I usually let TR dye my hair for me. The purple is more understated than I was hoping for, and there are some definite areas of brown visible, but whatever, it's temporary.

If you have any trouble getting the dye off of your skin/the counter, use some hairspray. Hairspray works pretty well for ink stains too.

I'm completely undomesticated, so that may be the only tip of that kind that anyone will hear from me ever.
