sadlikeknivesSo, there was this girl. She was a year behind me in school. We used to be on quiz bowl and in high school, scholars' bowl together. I didn't really like her; found her a bit sanctimonious. But I knew her. She was smart.
Her senior year, she was in the top ten academically when she went to a party and did something stupid, and rather than face up to it she dropped out of school. Later, she had a baby girl, who's seven months old now.
Saturday, she was on her way home and decided to try to beat the train.
