My creative writing class's theme is 'subversion.' And today we were in the computer lab, getting started on one of our long-term projects (it's like an RPG) and getting familiar with the course webpage. One of the links was to a big Colbert Report fansite, so I went, "Ooooh!" and clicked on it. And it had a FANFICTION section.

So of course I opened it up. And one of the fics was rated M. Y'know. For mature. It was utter parody; I think Bill O'Reilly was in it, but...yeah.

Did I mention TR was sitting next to me? 'Cause she was. I poked her and got her to open it, too. And then we're sitting there in the middle of class turning, like, bright red from trying not to laugh, and the professor asks us what's going on. I about died.

But what did you tell the professor? Did you admit to checking out the fic?

Heh, well, I'd had the professor before, and one of my essays I wrote for him then was on the phenomenon of fanfiction. I figured, nothing else, I wouldn't have to do the lengthy explanation bit. So, yeah, I told him. He was like, "Oh, yeah, I'd forgotten about that section."

And then I died more.

It might be the actual "fansite" that Comedy Central made. They have a ridiculously hilarious site with fanfiction, and if you scroll alllllll the way down it's copyrighted by Comedy Central.

That's entirely possible, and would be hilarious. I didn't have time enough to check the site out in full (and then I was laughing too hard anyway).
