Driving Myself Mad
Feb. 2nd, 2007 11:27 pmAt the rate I'm going, I'm not gonna get into grad school because I'm scared of sending a couple of lousy little e-mails.
See, I need to e-mail the professors I want to write my letters of recommendation and say, basically, "Hey, will you do this for me?" It shouldn't be that big a deal! But I'm freaking out over the wording of the e-mail. I don't want to sound too much like a beggar, but I don't want to sound like I'm assuming they'll do it, either (although two of them wrote letters for TR already, so I don't see why I'd be a problem, and even now I'm giving them more lead-out time than she did). So I'm, like, freaking out.
Somebody tell me to calm down and it'll be all right?

Want me to beta it for you? I'm up for a while yet.

Date: 2007-02-03 06:02 am (UTC)And thanks to my being a Russian minor with a specialization in literature, and my advisor changing departments over winter break, I have now realized that none of my potential recommenders are currently in my major area. *facepalm*
THIS could be interesting...
