I watched the premieres of Lost and CSI:NY last night. Lost looks deeply cool. Dominic Monaghan and Ian Somerhalder, as always, look hot. This is a show I shall be watching closely. I got into a heated debate with some of the boys in my Russian class over what the kill-y thing in the jungle is. One guy says dinosaur. I say science experiment gone horribly awry or pissed-off island spirit. We smacked down the guy who suggested tiger on grounds of size. Theories are welcome. Then, on, CSI:NY I was deeply pleased by my ability to understand a wee bit of what the Russian people were saying. For instance, 'Chto?' means 'What?' And that's actually about all I understood, but hey, that's something!

I'd never actually watched The Real World before, because I don't care for MTV and the people usually scare me. But for Hector, I've been watching. And you should too. Because there is teh gay hotness. Yes.

I've been watching CSI DVDs, snatched from my mother, who doesn't appreciate them. OMG I love this show. I'd been resisting, but resistance is apparently futile. Greg is too adorable. And I'm developing a hardcore crush on Archie, the tech. However...is it just me, or is there something deeply...tacky about failing to provide closed captioning or subtitles on DVDs of a show where one of the main characters is losing his hearing?

Tanked my biology test. This is assured, even though the grade's not back yet. Semi-tanked my math test. This does not bode well for the rest of the semester in general, since it was the first one. But! I'm getting an A in Russian, and due to the lack of grades being handed out in my Religion and Genocide seminar, I'm getting an A by default in that, too. We'll find out whether art history is going to follow the former or latter model in about an hour and a half. I feel fairly confident, which usually isn't as good a thing as you'd think. I was confident about the biology test, too.

Final verdict on my computer: Monitor is dead. Will have to shell out for new monitor. *gulp* Woe is me. Also, my cable internet still isn't working up to speed, according to the little blinky lights on the receiver, but I'm having difficulties arranging for them to come out and fix it.

Oh, and my cable company doesn't carry Bravo. At all. What's up with that? I have no Queer Eye, and this makes the baby Vampy cry. Between this and the cable internet situation, I'm getting really pissed off at Comcast.

I have no clue what the things in the jungle were, since I didn't watch Lost. What's it about, should I download it?

It's like I said, the computer gods have decided to curse you. If you're getting a big monitor (as in, not a flat-screen one), see if you can find it used from somewhere. Also, I want to take apart your computer and poke at it until I figure out what's wrong. I suppose that means school is training me well, huh?

Yay for good grades! I, um, kind of skipped class today. But it was so I'd have more time to study, I swear! Even if I haven't so much as looked at my textbook since I got up this morning, I'm going to go and study real soon. *nodnod*

It's about Dominic Monaghan and Ian Somerhalder and some guy everyone but me seems to recognize and call Charlie on a tropical island, looking pretty. Isn't that enough?

Oh, and they're among the survivors of a plane crash. Oh, and there's something in the jungle that wants to eat them. Download the pilot, since apparently the 'whole' pilot reveals what the thing in the jungle is. Then tell me.

I'm probably getting a flat-screen one. I have my geeker bargain-hunting cousins on the lookout for me. And yes, school is training you very well indeed.

I believe you. Really. I do.

I'll put the pilot on my list of stuff to download, then. I just started another anime series* and I'm downloading episodes of it, so it may take me a few days.

I'm so very glad you believe me. Your trust and faith absolutely warms my heart.

*It's called "Full Metal Alchemist". Two boys decide to revive their dead mom through alchemy, and one of them loses an arm and leg and the other loses his whole body, and is now in a suit of armor. Now they're looking for the Philosopher's Stone, which they hope will allow them to get their original bodies back. Supposedly takes place in just-pre WW1 Germany. Very good, although I wouldn't have started watching it if the damn crack-peddlers on my friendslist hadn't pimped it.

Damn the crack-peddlers. And damn me for introducing you to anime in the first place. I'm sorry.

Hee, I forgive you. After all, anime and manga have kept me entertained this summer when TV was full of reruns and you weren't online, and I've seen some great shows and met some awesome people. It's just that now with the TV season starting up again, between TV and anime I hardly have time to do any homework! Hmm, perhaps I should adjust my priorities.

Maybe just a little. Like, save the anime for the weekends or something.

Right, I'll definately start doing that.

Once I'm caught up with this show.

I'm at school, so my list of links is shorter. I can send you to Silverlake, which was updated recently. You can go melt your ovaries over at [livejournal.com profile] baaaaabyanimals. I don't know if I sent this story to you or not, but read it anyways, and while you're at it you can get yourself caught up with This Can't Be Good, in which Hojo is not dead but Kagome is miiiiiiiighty pissed at him.

Why I like manga: this man is hot. Really.

Need any more amusing?

Amen.

Oh, if you're still bored, you can go check out Friendly Hostility, a new-ish webcomic by the woman who did Boy Meets Boy.
