The Year in Review

sadlikeknivesThere are fifteen things I need to go back to today. To avoid making fifteen posts, I'm trying to divide them up.
The categories I've assigned them are The Real World, Media, School, Sports, Politics, Updates, and Asking Again.. But several of them bridge those categories, so I'm having difficulties. So I've decided to just do them in chronological order. Those I think deserve friendslocking will get their own entry, out of chronological order, though.
I wanted to know what you think the meaning of 'slash' is. I got one response. (Thanks, Sonneta!)
Oh, and also, the gods of papers have declared war on me, too, but more on that as it unfolds (Heh. Unfolds. Paper. I made a pun.)
I don't actually know which paper this was about, so I don't know what to say. I think it was the women in political writings paper, which took me four drafts and wound up...very strongly feminist. But I got an A on it.

fox1013 the Magnificent made me a hockey icon, just in time for the playoffs. ‘Tis lovely. I chose the picture, so I can’t even bitch over the fact that it’s a Montreal Canadien instead of a Detroit Red Wing.
But. I’m stupid. When I try to save the icon to my computer so I can put it on my LJ, it becomes a BMP file instead of the PNG file Fox says it is. Fox is smarter than me, so I believe her and believe it’s my fault. She’s gone to Seder (is that supposed to be capitalized?), so she can’t help me. I don’t know what to do. Help me? Please?
Yes, we're in a lockout now, but I still want the icon. And eight months later, I still haven't figured out how to upload it. Please, somebody, help me!
I had fannish musings about the Man in Black and Westley. One person replied, and that to promise they would answer my questions later.
Next batch'll go up after I've gotten some sleep.
