"Can I Lick You?"
Jan. 30th, 2005 10:44 pmPeople who were at MBTV with me, help me out. Am I right or sickly-crazy?
Way back when, in MBTV OTB (so, what, four years ago?), we had a thread for pretty celebrities. I don't remember what it was called. But somebody posted a picture of Orlando Bloom sans most of his clothes, and it was pretty as sin. And I said, quite sincerely, "...Can I lick it?" And everybody thought that was amusing, because apparently it wasn't said very often. For a while, people even kinda teased me about it. And it became, in that thread, common parlance. Pretty people were 'lickable.' I don't think it was common on LiveJournal at the time, and I know we had to explain the term's nativity to a few people when we moved to Meta.
And now it's common as dirt. Everybody's licking. Or *lick*ing.Telly just linked me to these very pretty pictures from
rightclicklick.
So, what I want to know is...has the plague made me delirious, or did I start this?
I do not doubt at all that somebody else could have come up with it independent of me. It's a fairly obvious phrase.
But if I did start it, where's my credit?!
