I just had a random thought. How much would it suck if JKR got hit by a bus or something before she finished book seven?

George seems to be feeling much better today. He even mreeped angrily at me when I got home from lab and his food bowl was tragically empty. I, on the other hand, feel like shit. I slept through my morning classes, and I think we were going to get information for our next Russian quiz today, so, bugger. I have an appointment at the health center tomorrow morning, but it's just to get a form filled out, and considering the time between my appointment and when I have to be in class, I don't have time for them to actually examine me. So I guess I'll just chug cold medicine and hope for the best.

A friend and I were talking about that in class and basically said that if it happened, we would kill JKR ourselves. You know, after bringing her back from the dead.

This talk of JKR being hit by a car made me remember that happened to Stephen King. Boy, would people have been pissed off if the Dark Tower series wasn't finished.

Ah, but hasn't JKR already written the last bit of it?
And I'm sure her editor has made her write it all down and put it in a safe place.

Come to think of it, they'd probably get a ghostwriter to finish the series. And then they'd be all the debates over whether or not the post-death Harry Potter books were better or worse. And the internet would explode in a huge fan war. But the bits of fandom that weren't fighting would totally benefit, because many the fanficcers would all write their versions of how it ended, and it would be totally creative.

And possibly I've given this too much thought.


Personally, I'm more worried about Isobel Carmody. It's been years since she's worked on her Obernewtyn series, and now that she's gone off and started work on something like three other series - well, let's just say that I'm not so worried about the car and more worried about old age. *g*

I know she's supposed to have the last chapter locked in a vault somewhere, and I sincerely hope she's got an outline written down, but what if?
